Orange Chocolate Bark

The combination of dark chocolate, almonds and orange zest in this treat is simple and delicious, and the result is easy to ship to a loved one for a special occasion. Depending on how you want the bark to look you can use a zester to make sprinkles of orange zest or you can use a peeler and knife to create thin strips of bright color.

Ingredients

Orange Chocolate Bark
  • 1 pound dark chocolate, chopped or chips
  • ⅔ cup sliced and toasted almonds
  • 4 tablespoons orange zest
  • ¼–½ teaspoon coarse sea salt

Instructions

1. Line a cookie sheet with aluminum foil or parchment and put in the refrigerator while you are preparing the ingredients.

2. Melt the chocolate in a microwave in short bursts of 20–30 seconds, stirring in between, until you have a nice smooth consistency. You can also use a double boiler to melt the chocolate.

3. Pour the melted chocolate into the prepared pan. It doesn’t have to touch the edges and it should be about ¼ inch thick.

4. Press nuts and orange zest lightly into the chocolate. Sprinkle the salt evenly over the mixture.

5. Allow to harden on the counter for a few hours or in the refrigerator.

6. When hard, break into pieces and package in an airtight container for storing or shipping.
