Chill a glass in the freezer for a few minutes while you prepare sugar for the rim. Ideally, you use a few teaspoons of maple sugar plus a few shakes of cinnamon stirred together on a plate. Natural cane sugar will work just as well if you don’t have maple sugar handy, and you don’t need a lot of cinnamon for the taste to come through.

Ingredients

  • 1½ ounces half and half cream
  • 1½ ounces maple syrup
  • 1½ ounces vodka
  • Ice

Preparation

While the glass is chilling, shake the half and half, maple syrup and vodka together with ice.

Dampen your finger with a little water and maple syrup and run it around the rim of your chilled glass, then invert the glass and dip it in the sugar mixture. Pour the drink mixture into the sugar-rimmed glass, straining out the ice.
