The Roycroft Ethos and Contemporary Artists

The Roycroft mark was appropriated from the Society of Venetian Printers with lineage dating back to the 15th century. Almost identical in design, Elbert Hubbard personalized the mark by adding the letter R in the orb and trademarked the new iteration in 1906.
