Living abroad, I am often asked what I miss most from home. Let me tell you—tasty, home-cooked, fresh WNY cuisine consistently ranks very highly on that list. I have such fond memories of warm summer evenings at my grandmother’s house on the lake, sitting on the porch shucking corn on the cob and smelling dinner sizzling away on the grill.

Nothing beats a classic summer barbecue with lots of fresh berries and a childhood favorite: hearty, gooey, delicious mac and cheese. Especially when you add a few exciting upgrades fit for an evening dinner party, served alongside some refreshing sangria and a WNY adult twist on a classic British dessert.

Dinner: Jack Daniels BBQ chicken served with smoked Gouda and paprika macaroni and cheese, grilled corn on the cob, and a strawberry and balsamic spinach salad

Drinks: Pomegranate and summer berry sangria

Dessert: Iced berry Eton mess
